Chanel debuted their Resort 2015 collection in a fashion show in Dubai Tuesday. Karl Lagerfeld decided to unveil the line in Dubai because of the cities’ huge skyline which includes the tallest building in the world. He had this to say about the launch, “with the highest building, I thought that was a reason to show the highest fashion.” Chanel decided to make the show a spectacle because it would seem foolish to have the show in Dubai and do exactly the same things you would do in New York or Paris. Dubai is about extravagance, and it was shown during the immaculate show. From Woman’s Wear Daily, the show was held in a gold and glass structure on a man-made island with views of the futuristic skyline.
